SPB 7072: Special Districts

PROPOSED BILL by Community Affairs

Special Districts; Provides for the merger of special districts. Provides definitions. Provides that the merger or dissolution of dependent districts created by special act may be effectuated only by the Legislature. Provides that the Legislature may merge independent special districts created by special act. Provides for the voluntary merger of independent districts pursuant to a joint resolution of the governing bodies of the districts or upon initiative of the district electors, etc.
