CS/SB 374: Postsecondary Education

GENERAL BILL by Education ; Hukill ; (CO-INTRODUCERS) Galvano ; Simpson

Postsecondary Education; Citing this act as the “College Competitiveness Act of 2017”; renaming the Florida College System as the Florida Community College System; creating the State Board of Community Colleges; revising the function and mission of the Florida K-20 education system; providing the primary mission of a career center operated by a district school board; providing that the State Board of Community Colleges, instead of the State Board of Education, provide guidelines for Florida Community College System institution boards of trustees’ policies, etc.

Effective Date: Except as otherwise expressly provided in this act, this act shall take effect October 1, 2017
