| Project Description: |
| Continuation of comprehensive medical, dental and health education services for delinquent youth detained in DJJ residential centers, non-secure detention facilities, independent living homes, shelters and after-care programs. Also provides nursing services at the Juvenile Assessment Center during peak hours, ie 10 hours/day, 7 days/week. Continuation of preventive medicine outreach program for youth attending middle/alternative school in at risk zip codes for juvenile crime. The increase in the annual appropriation will alow us to meet the following identified needs: a) increase juvenile assessment center nursing clinic hours to 24 hour coverage; b) add mental health services for treatment of conduct disorder, attention deficit disorder, hyperactivity and sexual reactivity; and c) add a substance abuse treatment program. |
