Project Description:
St. Lucie County currently has a deficiancy of 300 shelter beds for individuals with special needs. The project will not only resolve that need, it will also construct a Regional Disaster Control Center that will provide a staging and distribution facility for emergency services. The project will also establish an emergency animal shelterto be utilized in the event of wildfires or flooding. Initial funding of $2,000,000 will be for planning and first phase of construction
