Project Description:
Water availability/quality requirements and flow demands will dictate expansion of Water Treatment Plant. All Surficial wells will be abandoned due to wetland impacts. The Brackish water (Floridan Wells) will need higher form of treatment. The Utility Department seeks Reverse Osmosis technology as alternative means of treatment. The upgraded plant shall have a capacity of 8 mgd. This will also accomodate expected growth. The roject is consistent with the Comprehensive Plan as meeting or exceeding the potable water and average flow requirements set by the Florida Department of Health and Rehabilitative services pursuant to Chapter 10D-6 FAC and 10D-4 FAC.
