Port Everglades is among the worlds leading cruise passenger, petroleum, and containerizd cargo ports. Because it is an open port with considerable landside access, it is vulnerable to terrorism, as well as drug contraband importation, and stolen property exportation. The proposed security project will reduce the likelihood of extreme acts of sabotage and terrorism

Project Description:
Installation of vehicle barriers at all in-bound and out-bound lanes at the Port's four (4) access control points.

Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
Reduce the risks to Port associated with the potential use of vehicle borne explosive Devices. PEV is the 2nd largest cruise ship port in the world, and the fastest growing containerized cargo port. With an annual operating revenue of $112.5 million the Port is home to thousands of users. Any distribution of business, while inestimable, would be substantial.
