Project Description: |
A rapid response system that assists police departments statewide in the search/early recovery of missing chldren, the elderly, the disabled, in addition to providing sexual predators notification at the request of law enforcement. Various emergencies that law enforcement needs involving children, A Child Is Missing can assist them in those searches. Serviced Provided/Benefit to State: The cost of providing this service is quite costly but if the cost spread out it can be affordable and all law enforcement agencies can benefit. This is a Public/Private partnership, with a not for profit organization. There is no total service like this in Floridat at the present time. It is basically free to law enforcement. This funding allocated this year allowed ACIM to provide service and training to area that had not been reached. We continue our personalized training to the state. Provate funding was also involved in providing the service. Additional funding is needed but service is provided twenty-four hours a day, three-hundred and sixty-five days a year. |

Measurable Outcome Anticipated: |
At the present time, the program is available to every law enforcement agency in Florida. ACIM has been able to produce resluts and leads to finding people, saving law enforcement many hours and additional expense. With the expanded service law enforcement wil have service provided when they need it by calling. The sooner person's are found or notified the safer they are. The community benefits and it is a response program that people can hear working in their own homes. |
