Project Description: |
This three phase project introduces a unique partnership with the City of Hollywood and Broward County to create a regional ArtsPark. The main components of ArtsPark are a new performing arts amphitheater, a visual arts and cultural center and a redesigned park. The performing arts amphitheater will be used for festivals, theater, dance and music with seating for 300-500 under cover and an additional 5,000 lawn seats. The new stage will have a 60 x 45 square foot viewable stage area with backstage side wings, private dressing rooms, restroom and shower facilities, state of the art sound and light systems, and a loading dock off he backstage area. The visual arts and cultural cener will be located adjacent to the performing arts amphitheater housing a lobby, offices, dance and multi-use rooms, performers dressing rooms, locker rooms, storage areas, children's arts and craft messy art room, a black box theater with lobby and backstae area, and an enclosed gallery space. Classes that will be held in the visual arts and cultural center will inclde dance, theater, sculpture, literature, digital art, metal working and glass blowing. New elements/activities will be added to the partk's open spaces. This facility will stimulate the conomy in the South Florida area as well as attract tourist nationally and internationally and improve transportatin in the region. |
