Describe how it will reduce loadings, identify anticipated load reductions for total suspended solids, total nitrogen, total phosphorus, and other contaminants, and specify the practices that will be used to reduce loadings:
Segment 2 of the proposed Capital Cascade Trail propses to construct a series of flood reduction facilities. The watershed contirbuting to Segment 2 is 951 acres. As an intergral part of the flood attenuation facilities, a portion of each facility will be engineered as a treatment area. These areas will be designed as either wet detention or detention with filtration facilities. Several concepts are under consideration so precise determination of removal of the various contaminants has not been made. The City of Tallahassee Nonpoint Source Load and Management Model (CoTNSLMM) was used to determine the amount of contamination that would b ermoved for each concept under consideration. The COT land use ws generated anticpated pollutant loadings into the surface runoff. These were condensed to conform to land use classes identified and used by Harper, 1997. For Segment 2,4 stormwater managment concepts are under consideration. Using 1 Wet Detention as the criteria, the proposed facilities provide treatment volume for a watershed of 31-48 acres. Using 0.5" Dry Detention with filtration as the criteria, the concept facilities would provide treatment for 136-213 acres.
