This 14-mile road, adjacent to the Indian River Lagoon, was destroyed by hurricanes Frances, Ivan, and Jeanne. At a cost of $30 million, the embankment and road are being reconstructed. This project is to re-vegetate the the embankment to stabilize it against erosion that might destroy the embankment and jeopardize the $30 million road reconstruction.

Project Description:
This project involves the reconstruction of Indian River Drive, destroyed by Huricanes Frances, Ivan, and Jeanne. The reconstruction of the embankment and road are being accomplished at a cost of $30 million. St. Lucie County lacks adequate funding to revegetate the embankment. This leaves the embankment highly vulverable to erosion by the Indian River Lagoon.
