Project Description:
The Village is seeking to expand its residential and outpatient substance abuse treatment services for the target population described above. The project will include NIDA's Community Based Outreach Model as well as Motivational Enhancement Therapy. Services for the mothers will include assessments, treatment planning, family therapy using NIDA's Strengthening Families Program, mother-infant massage, individual counseling, vocational and educational services, evaluation and psychotropic medication, group therapy, skills building workshops, addiction workshops, parenting workshops, basic medical care, day care, and case management. Services for the children will include developmental and/or psychological assessments, individualized development plans, skills building workshops, mental health services, recreation, educational services, and case management. The project will be housed in a building that already has been substantially funded by the State of Florida and is now ready for occupancy.

Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
Provide culturally competent residential and outpatient substance abuse treatment services to 75-100 families; minimum of 70% of women successfully complete treatment; 75% of women will not have used alcohol/drugs within past 30 days measured at 6 and 12 months post admission; 100% of pregnant women will receive prenatal care; 100% of women who deliver while in the program will have drug-free births; 80% of infants born to women in the program will exhibit normal physical growth patterns at 6 and 12 months post admission assessment; 80% of infants and children will exhibit a 5 percentile increase over baseline on standardized, age appropriate assessment instruments; 80% of women will reduce emergency room visits by 70% under baseline; 80% of women who complete program will have a primary health care provider; 80% of the children will attend 100% of their well-child appointments; 100% of children will receive regularly scheduled immunizations; 80% of women who complete the program will be enrolled in educational or vocational program or have full-time employment; 80% of women will obtain safe, permanent housing at time of discharge, or at 6 and 12 months post admission; and 80% of women who remain in treatment for a minimum of 90 days will regain custody of their children.
