Project Description:
Drainage improvements in the vicinity of the West Tampa Elementary School. The project consists of pipe laterals, inlets, manholes and a sediment trap specifically designed to improve water quality of the receiving waters at the Hillsborough River. Construction costs include fullwidth restoration of the existing brick streets.

Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
This project will improve current flooding conditions which affect the health and safety of residents, particularly pedestrians (including elementary school children and their parents) and motorists by reducing the exposure to untreated stormwater and obstacles to driving. The planned sediment trap is designed to remove sixty to eighty percent of Total Suspended Solids (TSS) from the runoff reaching it, thus improving the water quality of the receiving waters at the Hillsborough River.
