Project Description:
The Parramorre Central Pond is a proposed multi-use facility that will improve quality of stormwater discharge to Clear Lake, a water body that discharges into the Kissimmee River drainage basin. In addition to the water quality benefits, this project will promote the revitalization of an economically blighted area. The pond will provide a centralized drainage facility for a large, disadvantaged neighborhood in West Orlando. This 100-acre urban drainage basin currently has few or no existing stormwater treatment facilities. The proposed six-acre pond will treat stormwater from many old industrial sites that currently produce untreated runoff. As a result of the availability of the stormwater system improvements, the project is anticipated to spur economic development of adjoining property and bring improved living conditions to this area.
