| Project Description: |
| A one-time, non-recurring capital investment will allow Goodwill to expand its Gainesville store and training center. Goodwill utlizes sales of used goods to fund employment services to the disabled and other unemployed persons. After initial training and employment with Goodwill, workers are placed in outside, competitive employment. This expansion project will allow more people to be served, and will provide new services such as advanced computer training, and distance learning. These new services will be particularly focused on enabling workers to improve their skills so they may compete for higher paying jobs. The expansion of the Gainesville store will enable Goodwill to place an additional 292 people in jobs annually in the Gainesville area. in the past three years, Goodwill of Northeast Florida has placed almost 15,000 people in jobs. |
