This intiative will provide environmental benefits to various water resources in North Palm Beach County, principally the Loxahatchee River and the Lake Worth Lagoon. Both of these resources are listed priority waterbodies for the South Florida Water Management District.

Project Description:
Construction (Design/Build) of selected components of the North Palm Beach County Part 1 project (including but not limited to L-8 Reservoir, Control #2 Pump Station, M-Canal Improvements, Grassy Waters Preserve Flowage Improvements, Northlake Boulevard Structure (G161).

Provide environmental benefits to the Grassy Waters Preserve, Loxahatchee Slough and Northwest Fork of the Loxahatchee River, as well as improve water supply and flood control for northern Palm Beach County areas.

These projects will help reduce wet season fresh water discharges to the lagoon in an effort to improve the lagoon salinity conditions and re-route the funoff to a storage area (L-8 Reservoir) which can then supply fresh water to the Loxahatchee River during the dry season to improve salinity conditions.
