Project Description:
All-Aboard Educational Services provides a myriad of services to at-risk children in Miami-Dade County. The All-Aboard Tutoring/Mentoring Program is an early interventoin project which assists children who are experiencing academic failure, functioning below grade level or illiterate by recruiting, training, and placing academic tutors/mentors to work one-on-one with the children in public elementary schools. The program excels in keeping low achieving and minority students from being retained. This translates into a reduction in grade level retention and a reduction in future dropout rates. In addition, this tutoring/mentoring component increases self-esteem and academic success.
