Project Description: |
BECON has a proven history of producing high quality educational and instructional television programming for K-12 students. This type of programming can greatly enhance classroom insgtruciton and provide a valuable resource to augment the curriculum. Production and development costs have been previously funded through local and federal grant funding which is no longer available. In order to continue meeting the needs of students in Broward County as well as statewide, legislative funds are being requested. BECON will develop a series of instructional programs dealing with curriculum in selected academic areas related to the FCAT. These include: mathematics, science, reading, writing and social studies. Products for statewise distribution would include television programs in broadcast, DVD, video or we-streamed format. Accompanying materials would include teacher guides, interactive classroom activities, web resources. Training will be offered for curriculum specialists from all Florida School Districts regarding implementation of the programs |
