Project Description:
Expansion of the existing downtown retention area to enhance flood protection, facilitate downtown redevelopment, and increase water quality treatment before discharge into the exfiltration trench that drains to the aquifer that interfaces with Silver Springs, designated as an Outstanding Florida Waters. (OTW)

The expansion of Thompson Bowl wet pool will provide additional treatment for the reduction of TSS, TN, P oils, greases, and other contaminants prior to discharge to the dry pond and ultimately the exfiltration truck. Reduction in loading will meet or exceed the SJRWMD requirements.
