Project Description:
This two lane road facility connects I-75 to Charlotte County, which provides for an excellent hurricane evacuation route. This route also provides access to the City's five hurricane shelters. As learned from hurricane Charlie, there was approximately 25 minutes for citizens to evacuate the northern Charlotte area after this storm made an unexpected turn to the west. Four laning Toledo Blade Blvd. would have provided the citizens of Charlotte County and North Port an efficient and convenient evacuation route.
