Is this a project related to 2004 hurricane damage? No

Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
With the completion of this stormwater drainage/roadway improvement project, there will not be any standing stormwater. No standing stormwater means no breeding of mosquitoes, no exposure to standing stormwater which may possibly be contaminated with sewer, thereby less pollutant loadings to surface water and ground water. The completion of this project will improve the water quality and will enhance the local vegetation and tree planting and will protect public health and the environment.

Will this project reduce pollutant loadings to a water management district designated 'priority' surface water body? Yes
Name of water body: Opa-locka Canal (SFWMD C-8 Canal)

Describe how it will reduce loadings, identify anticipated load reductions for total suspended solids, total nitrogen, total phosphorus, and other contaminants, and specify the practices that will be used to reduce loadings:
The construction of adequate street drainage and roadway improvements (exfiltration system with a combination of catch basins, inlets and manholes, solid and perforated pipes), will reduce flooding and standing stormwater. No standing stormwater means no breeding of mosquitoes, no contamination of standing flood water with sewer water. Therefore less pollutant loadings thru street run off to canal; which means reduced pollutant loadings from canal into ground water. The completion of this project will improve water qualities for both surface water and ground water and protect public health and atmosphere.
