Tsala-Apopka Chain of Lakes are Outstanding Florida waterways and are of historic, hydrologic, ecologic and economic significance to the state of Florida. These waterways are plagued by sedimentation, excessive growth of aquatic plants, degraded water quality and degraded recreational value.

Project Description:
Conduct sediment analysis for approximately 36 cores representing 20 lakes in the Tsala-Apopka Chain of Lakes.

Sediment analysis will help lake managers prioritize areas for stormwater retrofit projects and sediment removal to improve water quality, fisheries habitat and free flow of water to reduce flood impacts.
