FIA is a non-sectarian volunteer agency. The Strong for Life exercise program, which will improve the health and mobility of seniors, is currently offered only in Pinellas County but will be expanded to FIA offices in neighboring counties.

Project Description:
Strong for Life is an exercise program designed specifically for the elderly which rebuilds lost muscle. It is conducted at congregations, mobile home parks, senior centers, ALFs, and in individual residences.

Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
Exercise will rebuild lost muscle resulting in increased strength, ability and confidence. Fewer falls, broken bones and hospitalizations are the ultimate outcome. Fat loss is a bonus by-product.
