This project has an opportunity to enhance the corridor's value to the community through implementation of enhancements designed to improve its visual quality and to provide a gateway into the City of Leesburg. Functional enhancement would better accommodate bicycles and pedestrians alike. Connectivity improbvements would provide a link to the Countywide Rails to trails network, thus facilitating a better connection to the downtown as well as corridor destinations.

Project Description:
All across the country, bicycle and pedestrian facilities are proving to be a wise economic investment for the communities through which they pass and have proven to be a cost-effective use of Public funds. In Lake County the US 441 corridor connects the cities of Tavares and Leesburg. This proposal includes providing a trail that would serve nearby residential areas along this corridor with an alternative transportation route to county/city government offices, the Lake Square Mall and various other retail outlets as well as transportation route to county/city government offices, the Lake Square Mall and various other retail outlets as we4ll as Lake Sumter Community College.
