Project Description: |
Two mile improvement of County road 466. This improvement will provide an alternative parallel (east-west) corridor to CR 466A in both Lake and Sumter County. The two extra lanes will provide necessary additional capacity to relieve traffic congestion as well as provide interconnection to US 27/441. Lake County is one of the fastest growing counties in the State of Florida. the increase in elderly population growth and general population growth of the county has resulted in more of a demand for transportation capacities. The construction of several major developments is increasing in lake County especially the retirement community of The Villages. The Villages is creating a concentration of people in the corner of each three counties boundaries for Lake, Sumter, and Marion, which as created a greater need for transportation facilties, according to the 2004 AADT on CR 466 is 10,413. |
