Demonsstrates a successful academic, vocational and behavioral health intervention in serving children with behavioral disabilities, who, if left untreated can become threats to a community's physical safety and security through deliquent and/or destructive acts. It enables many of these children to he "mainstreamed" and others to maintain school attendance, even to successful graduation from high school.

Project Description:
This is a request for funds to renovate an existing building which houses services to chidren who experience severe emotional and behavorial problems. As the 0-18 population in Hillsborough County grows, the number of children with severe emotional problems has increased dramatically. This special population challenges both the educational and the mental health system. These funds will expand an existing facility in which a special academy is operated collaboratively by Mental Health Care, Inc. and the Hillsborough County District School System.

Number of children "mainstreamed" to less restrictive school setting. Numbers of children who maintain regular attendance in Academy classes. Numbers of children who continue progressing through the educational system to successful graduation.
