The proposed project will reduce flooding impacting an estimated 35,000 Broward County Residents and 1,000 businesses in the seven square mile basin served bythe project, and will further serve to protect water quality by reducing pollutants entering the C-14 canal.

Project Description:
Replacement of the three 30 year old pump stations servicing approximately 60% of the cit. (see Appendix A)

Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
Replacement of the pumps will alleviate flooding by increasing capacity by approximately 25%. While no data exists relative to pollutants, the pumps will significantly decrease the pollutants and solids washed into the canal system during flood events thus further serving to protect the adjoining ecosystem.
