Project Description: |
Seek state funding to compensate for cost increases in order to continue the operation of Hillsborough County programming, which serves as the State's Model Alzheimer's Program (refer to previous section entitled "Statewide Interest").
Since 1986, this program has operated at each of the County's senior centers. While State funding has remained flat, the county has continued to absorb increasing costs and program expansion due to the increased number of clients. Additional revenue is now necessary in order to maintain the current level of operation and to meet the increased the demand for services.

Is this a project related to 2004 hurricane damage? |
No |
|
Measurable Outcome Anticipated: |
It is anticipated that responses to a survey that inquires about the type of Alzheimer care delivery a client is receiving through the Model Day Care program will result in a finding that 90% of those client/caregivers are very likely to continue participating in this model day care program, rather than be placed in a nursing home.
Additionally, the straight forward measurement of cost between Nursing Home Care at $58,000/year and Model Day Care (Community Based care) at $10,000/year is a valued monetary outcome.
