Regional storwater treatment systems will be implemented in the watersheds of the Middle St. Johns River Basin to reduce the discharge of nutrients, suspended solids, and heavy metals into the waters of th estate. Wet detnetion methodology will be implemented where the limited availability of land does not wliminate this option. Winthin areas of heavy urbanization, consideration will be given to all methods of stromwater treatment including alternative treatment methods to reduce pollutant loads to the receiving water bodies, particular;ly where space is limited due to unavailable or exceptionally high-cost land. Actual reducations of polluntants to the lakes and streams will depend upon the level of funding received, particularly in the urbanized areas where land availability is limited and costs are high.
