Information and Referral Services

Requester: Anne Chernin Organization: Boca Raton Jewish Federation

Project Title: Information and Referral Services Date Submitted 1/13/2005 9:38:32 AM

Sponsors: Klein

Statewide Interest:
The Information and Referral Services component will provide basic community information and referral to services currently offered to seniors in the community, creating a "One-Stop Shopping Service". The Applications and Crisis Intervention Services component will provide services essential to the screening and assessment of applicants for the variety of mental health and social services provided by Ruth Rales Jewish Family Service. In addition, it will provide initial assessment of those who call for referral to other agencies, regardless of service needed. The Senior and Family Support Services component will be a variety of support services currently provided by Ruth Rales Jewish Family Service and other appropriate community partners. They will include: Friendly visiting for the homebound, telephone reassurance for the homebound, resource coordination, publications, emergency food and shelter, financial assistance, case management and mental health. The Center for Volunteer Services component will capitalize on the belief that significant potential for the broadening of services to the community exists if adequate volunteer resources can be recruited and trained for that purpose. Volunteers would be trained to support the above mentioned services.
