Project Description: |
The Village is seeking to provide an In-Home, On-Site Program of therapy and intervention services for pre-teen and barely teen delinquent children and their families, impacting up to 200 families each year. The program will use a model of therapy that has been shown by the Department of Justice and the National Institute of health to be highly effective to re-direct the lives of these young offenders. the program will be an alternative to a Juvenile Justice Residential Level Program. Services will be provided to the children and their families in their homes, and the children may be monitored by an electronic monitoring system. Families of the children are usually in critical need of assistance to help guide thier children back to school and away from criminal thinking and behavior. the project also will enable a study to be conducted to demonstarte the efficacy of this type of program. The study will set a model fro the state of Florida that is less costly than residential level services, works with the entire family and produces lasting results, and can be replicated throughout the state once efficacy is shown by the proposed program. |
