Project Description: |
The Family Preservation program provides in-home services to families that are at risk of emotional disturbance and/or experiencing emotional/behavioral disturbance and currently placed in foster care or are at risk of removal from their home due to abuse and neglect. In-home services consist of individual and family therapy, parenting skills training, psychiatric consultation and community education on abuse and neglect. The public benefits from this type of service, as it is prevention based. The goals are to decrease childhood trauma, improve family functioning and to decrease the likelihood that children would be removed from their home due to abuse and neglect. This service also ensures that children in foster care would not be at risk upon reunification with their biological families. |

Measurable Outcome Anticipated: |
The project is currently measuring outcomes through the use of the Adult/Adolescent Parenting Inventory pre and post tests, the Henderson Mental Health Center treatment plan and the Henderson Mental health Center Satisfaction Survey. The data is currently being captured by the analysis of the following outcome measures: 1). 95% of families who complete the program will have no findings of "some iddication"or verified" child maltreatment within six months of program completion as measured by self report from the family; 2). 80% of families receiving parent education and other parent skill building services, lasting six weeks or longer will show improved family skills and capacity to care for their children as measured by the AAPI; 3) 95 % of families who complete services will report having overall satisfaction with the services they received as measured by a client satisfaction survey; 4).75% of families completing services will successfully complete treatment plan goals and objectives as measured by individual case records. |
