| Project Description: |
| Construction of an academic facility dedicated to classroom, faculty offices, and administrative support spaces is requested as part of the New College Capital Improvement Plan submittal for 2006-2011. In past years, buildings to support specialized science and fine arts instruction have been built, but the College has never had a building constructed primarily for standard instructional, administration or faculty office space. Most classrooms, offices and business functions presently in use were originally private residences or the original campus dormitories(Palmer Buildings). Adaptation of these building types for offices and classrooms is difficult. Resulting spaces are small and allow for few enhancements for technology or utilities. A building equipped to meet the technologicalstandards of today and tomorrow is critical to support the New College academic programs and increased enrollment.
