| Project Description: |
| The City of Fort Lauderdale participated in the Florida Youth Summer Jobs Program with Broward Workforce Development Board this past summer. The program offers at-risk and disadvantaged children summer jobs in partnership with local communities and public employers. Eligible teens are between 14 and 18 and are: at risk of welfare dependency, including economically disadvantaged children, children of participants in the welfare transition program, children of migrant farmworkers, and children of teen parents. In addition, juvenile offenders, children in foster care, and children with disabilities are eligible. The salaries of the students were paid by the program. |
