| Project Description: |
| The Big Cypress Basin, a priority watershed, covering 2,400 square miles in Collier and parts of Lee and Hendry Counties. The major waterways include the Cocohatchee River, Gordon River, Henderson Creek, Barron River, and a large network of canals operated and maintained by the Big Cypress Basin unit of SFWMD. Other major flowways include Okaloacoochee Slough and numerous large cypress strands, including Fakahatchee, Corkscrew, Bird Rookery, Kissimmee Billie, and Picayune.
