| Marion County activated a make-shift Emergency Operations Center during the 2004 hurricane season. The Communication Center at the Marion County Sheriff's Office receives and dispatches all calls for services (law enforcement, fire rescue and ambulance services) for more than 284,000 Marion County residents. Adequate facilities are necessary to ensure the protection of citizens and property. |
