Project Description:
The City of Pembroke Pines coordinates and administers an After School Tutorial Program which provides education, homework assistance, computer training and counseling to children 25% below their education level. The program also provides activities to children and their families, which include self-esteem building, crime safety and prevention, health, youth entrepreneurial projects and mentoring programs. The City needs the financial assistance to provide these services (cover tuition) to children of low-income families and to expand the programs to children in charter schools.
