589.03  Compensation and allowances.--Members of the council shall receive no compensation for the services which they may render under the provisions of this chapter. However, they shall be reimbursed for per diem and travel expenses as provided in s. 112.061 for attending meetings of the council and in the performance of duties as members of the council, but the aggregate expense of all members of the council shall not, during any fiscal year, exceed the sum of $2,500.
