281.08  Equipment.--

(1)  The 1Division of Capitol Police is specifically authorized to purchase, sell, trade, rent, lease, and maintain all necessary equipment, uniforms, motor vehicles, communication systems, housing facilities, and office space, and perform any other acts necessary for the proper administration and enforcement of ss. 281.02-281.09, pursuant to part I of chapter 287. The 1division may prescribe a distinctive uniform to be worn by personnel in the performance of their duties pursuant to 2s. 281.02(3). The 1division may prescribe a distinctive emblem to be worn by all agents or guards.

(2)  It is unlawful for any unauthorized person to wear a uniform or emblem prescribed by the 1division, or a similar uniform or emblem, or to impersonate, pretend, or represent himself or herself to be an agent or guard. Any person who violates the provisions of this subsection is guilty of a misdemeanor of the first degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082 or s. 775.083.

Section 4, ch. 97-296, requires the Division of Statutory Revision to prepare a reviser's bill for submission to the 1998 Regular Session of the Legislature substituting references to the Department of Management Services in the Florida Statutes for references to divisions, bureaus, or other units of that department.
