Appropriations and Implementing bills authorize the spending of public money on an annual basis. The appropriations measures passed by the Legislature comprise the state budget. Information relating to these bills and other bills that have been determined to be part of the budget process is posted here.

    Appropriations Committee Amendment Deadlines

    • Friday, February 13, 2026
      The Appropriations Committee will notice its meeting for Wednesday, February 18, to consider the General Appropriations Bill (SPB 2500), the Implementing Bill (SPB 2502), additional bills related to the state’s budget, and other bills. The bills relating to the state’s budget will be available electronically on the Senate’s website, including the Appropriations webpage.
    • Monday, February 16, 2026, by 1:00 p.m.
      Amendments to SPB 2500 and SPB 2502 must be submitted for preparation and filing to the appropriate Appropriations committee staff (Suite 201, The Capitol).
      Amendments to all bills other than the General Appropriations and Implementing bills must be submitted to Bill Drafting for preparation, and be in final barcoded form when filed with the Appropriations Committee.
    • Tuesday, February 17, 2026, by 1:00 p.m.
      Amendments to amendments and substitute amendments to the SPB 2500 and SPB 2502 must be submitted for preparation and filing to the appropriate Appropriations committee staff (Suite 201, The Capitol).
      Amendments to amendments and substitute amendments to all bills other than the General Appropriations and Implementing bills must be submitted to Bill Drafting for preparation, and be in final barcoded form when filed with the Appropriations Committee.
    • Wednesday, February 18, 2026
      SPB 2500, SPB 2502, additional bills related to the state’s budget, and other bills will be considered in the noticed Appropriations Committee meeting.
