GENERAL BILL by Commerce Committee ; Insurance & Banking Subcommittee ; Rommel ; (CO-INTRODUCERS) Roth

Access to Financial Institution Customer Accounts; Provides additional grounds for qualified public depositories to be suspended & disqualified; authorizes OFR to receive complaints from customer or member who reasonably believes that financial institution has acted in bad faith in terminating, suspending, or taking similar action restricting access to such customer's or member's account; provides duties of office upon receipt of complaint; provides duties of financial institution upon receipt of notification that complaint has been filed; authorizes office to provide certain reports & information to specified entities; provides that financial institutions' customers & members have cause of action; authorizes such customers & members to recover damages, together with costs & attorney fees; provides time limit for initiating causes of action.
