GENERAL BILL by Judiciary Committee ; Justice Budget Subcommittee ; Cobb ; (CO-INTRODUCERS) Bartleman ; Daniels ; López, J.
Juvenile Justice; Authorizes Governor to award Medal of Heroism to juvenile detention & juvenile probation officers; authorizes certain entities to establish award program to award Medal of Valor to juvenile detention officer or probation officer in certain circumstances; clarifies that certain reference to department is reference to DJJ; provides that child subject to proceedings under chapter 984 may only be placed in shelter in certain circumstances; requires DJJ to direct Department of Revenue to deduct specified amounts owed to DJJ upon certain determination; requires Department of Revenue to transfer such funds into certain trust fund; specifies requirements relating to such reductions in amounts distributed to counties.
