Florida Health Insurance Affordability Exchange (FHIX)
The Senate's Florida Health Insurance Affordability Exchange (FHIX) is a fiscally responsible Florida solution to resolve short and long-term health care challenges facing our state. The FHIX Marketplace will offer private health coverage for 800,00 uninsured Floridians with an income less than 133 percent of the federal poverty level. This free-market, consumer-driven Florida solution provides access to high-quality, affordable health care coverage while promoting personal responsibility through premium payments and work or educational requirements. The plan includes conservative, free market guardrails that will control the cost and growth of the Medicaid program for Florida's taxpayers.
