HB 775: Civil Actions

GENERAL BILL by Judiciary ; Byrd ; (CO-INTRODUCERS) Waters ; Green

Civil Actions; provides for instructions to juries after jury is sworn in; provides for taking notes under certain circumstances; requires that court require mediation in certain actions for monetary damages; provides that certain venue provisions in contract for improvement to real property are void; provides employer with presumption against negligent hiring under specified conditions; provides for severability, etc. Amends FS.

Effective Date: 10/01/1999 except as otherwise provided
