CS/HB 1947: Workers' Compensation

GENERAL BILL by Council for Competitive Commerce ; Insurance ; Waters ; (CO-INTRODUCERS) Simmons ; Negron ; Berfield ; Brown ; Clarke ; Ross ; McGriff ; Kallinger ; Fields ; Melvin ; Baker ; Lee ; Brummer

Workers' Compensation; prohibits exempt individuals from doing construction work on commercial job sites; requires employers to maintain business records as specified by rules of Workers' Compensation Div., re exemptions from coverage; requires said division of LES Dept. to issue stop-work order upon failure to produce certain documents; specifies requirements for certifications of insurance that must be shown to receive building permit, etc. Amends FS.

Effective Date: 01/01/2003 except as otherwise provided
