HB 559: Local Government Revenue Collections

GENERAL BILL by Gonzalez

Local Government Revenue Collections; Authorizes local governments & tax collectors to enter into contracts with private attorneys or collection agents to collect specified taxes & other financial obligations that remain unpaid for 90 days after due date; provides that collection fees, including reasonable attorney's fees or other costs, may be added to account referred for collection; prohibits such fees & costs from exceeding 40 percent of amount owed, etc.
