CS/SB 1646: Economic Development

GENERAL BILL by Commerce and Tourism ; Latvala

Economic Development; Requiring the Department of Economic Opportunity to contract with a direct-support organization to promote the sports industry and the participation of residents in certain athletic competitions in this state and to promote the state as a host for certain athletic competitions; requiring the Office of Economic and Demographic Research and the Office of Program Policy Analysis and Government Accountability to provide a detailed analysis of the retention of Major League Baseball spring training baseball franchises; requiring the Office of Economic and Demographic Research to include certain guidelines for the calculation of economic benefits, etc.

Effective Date: Except as otherwise expressly provided in this act, this act shall take effect upon becoming a law
