Project Description:
Roof Replacement/Interior Repairs, Ben Hill Griffin Citrus Auditorium. This building has state of the art electron microscopic facilities; 8 UF level courses, and home of the largest collection of citrus literature in the world, yet plastic sheeting has to be drappped over the instruments to prevent water damage from the roof. Replace outdated Greenhouse Facilities. This building serves as "outdoor classrooms" for students, citrus growers, and nurserymen to investigate methods of eliminating or managing new pests and diseases. The greenhouse located in the center of campus are seriously outdated which affects the quality of research generated. Construction of replacement facilities would guarantee that the research conducted under greenhouse conditions meets quality standards expected of institutions conducting this research. Replacement of Field Lab and Greenhouse Support Multi-Use Facility. Field Labs include buildings that were dated back to the 1950's therefore, over the past 3 years, numerous facilities have been demolished. Under these circumstances field processing and soil preparation have been moved to other facilities, which caused undesirable side effects. Currently the field sample processing functions and soil sterilization facilities are non-existent, leaving programmatic voids.
