Order, notice of suspension or revocation of certificate of authority; effect; publication.

624.420  Order, notice of suspension or revocation of certificate of authority; effect; publication.--

(1)  Suspension or revocation of an insurer's certificate of authority shall be by the order of the department. The department shall promptly also give notice of such suspension or revocation to the insurer's agents in this state of record in the office of the department. The insurer shall not solicit or write any new coverages in this state during the period of any such suspension and may renew coverages only upon a finding by the department that the insurer is capable of servicing the renewal coverage. The insurer shall not solicit or write any new or renewal coverages after any such revocation.

(2)  In its discretion, the department may cause notice of any such suspension or revocation to be published in one or more newspapers of general circulation published in this state.
