624.4241  NAIC filing requirements.--

(1)  Each domestic, foreign, and alien insurer who is authorized to transact insurance in this state shall file one extra copy of its annual statement convention blank, along with such additional filings as prescribed by the department for the preceding year. Such extra copy shall be for the explicit purpose of allowing the department to forward it to the National Association of Insurance Commissioners.

(2)  Coincident with the filing of the documents required in subsection (1), each insurer shall pay to the department a reasonable fee to cover the costs associated with the filing and analysis of the documents by the National Association of Insurance Commissioners and the department.

(3)  The provisions of this section shall not apply to any foreign, domestic, or alien insurer which has filed such documents directly with the National Association of Insurance Commissioners if the National Association of Insurance Commissioners has certified receipt of the required documents to the department.
