The Florida Senate

In response to the Florida Supreme Court's decision today against the Governor's advisory opinion request on Congressional Redistricting, Senate Democratic Leader Lauren Book , offered the following statement: 

“I commend the Florida Supreme Court Justices for their swift review of the Governor’s unprecedented moves in the legislative redistricting process and for their respect of the separation of powers between branches of government. I look forward to seeing my colleagues in the Florida House of Representatives move through their process to finalize the congressional maps just as the Florida Senate has done so we can move swiftly to conclude the important redistricting work left to do. We must deliver for the people of Florida a fair and constitutionally sound congressional map and I am confident we can get there given the work done already in the Florida Senate.”
